The Society for Prevention Research and the National Prevention Network have been engaged in discussion about how to facilitate collaboration and communication between scientists and practitioners. One simple means of facilitating such communication is a listserv.

SPR and NPN therefore invite you to subscribe to a listserv on Integrating Science and Practice.

Our hope is that enough people from each group will subscribe that the listserv can be a forum for discussion of issues that arise, such as (a) how to find good information about the effects of a given program, (b) how to find a scientist who might be willing to develop evaluation of a project, (c) what the evidence is regarding the risk factors for a given problem, (d) what programs or policies have been shown to affect a particular problem, (e) marshalling the evidence for the effectiveness of prevention in a particular area, and (f) advocating for science-based policies and programs.
